A few of my quilts - more on the way.
A Valentine from Grandma's Garden
Hand pieced and quilted. 63" x 64"
This quilt began with a hand pieced hexagon patch flower, which grew into a heart,
and found itself in a very angular bed. Begun years before I needed reading glasses, and finally completed in 2011. Original design.
Richard's 50th Birthday Quilt
Hand pieced and quilted. 41" x 41"
A quilt for my late husband who loved pine trees, palm trees and snow.
The fabric selection, colors and Eiffel Tower backing were influenced by his French origins and favorite surroundings. The patchwork pattern is based on the traditional wedding ring quilt design.
Steel Blue Butterflies
Machine pieced and quilted. 21" x 21"
One of a butterfly quilt series; originally designed for Diane's 40th Birthday Quilt. A Guild Challenge asked members to make a quilt influenced by a crayon color. A metallic "steel blue" crayon reminded me of the metallic blue fabric in this quilt.
